TREATMENT INFO
Forehead lines are the horizontal creases that appear across the forehead, particularly when you raise your eyebrows. Anti-wrinkle treatment in this area aims to soften their appearance by reducing the muscle activity that creates them. Please note: All anti-wrinkle and muscle-relaxing treatment appointments are subject to a consultation with our independent nurse prescriber to assess suitability and create a personalised plan with your safety and goals in mind.

Forehead lines are horizontal creases that form when the frontalis muscle lifts your eyebrows. You may notice them when you look surprised, raise your brows or make other facial expressions.
Initially, they may only appear during movement. Over time, changes in skin elasticity and repeated folding can make them visible when your face is relaxed. They differ from frown lines, which appear vertically between the eyebrows.
What it helps
Part of our anti-wrinkle treatments, this forehead line treatment may help soften horizontal lines that become more noticeable when raising your eyebrows. The aim is to reduce excessive creasing while considering your natural expression and brow position.
Deeper lines visible at rest may respond less fully. Where skin quality also contributes, we can discuss whether skin booster treatments may be relevant to your wider treatment plan.

How it works
Muscle-relaxing treatment reduces selected activity in the frontalis muscle, which lifts the eyebrows and creates horizontal folds in the forehead.
Because this muscle also helps support brow position, treatment needs to account for how it works with the muscles between and around the eyebrows. The appropriate approach depends on your anatomy, existing brow position and facial movement.
Our approach
We consider your facial movement, skin and surrounding features to understand what’s contributing to your concern. Your treatment plan is tailored to your anatomy, priorities and goals, with clear advice about the changes treatment may achieve.
Your consultation will be with our in-house independent nurse prescriber, Helen Lada, who will review your medical history, assess suitability and explain your options. Treatment is only carried out where clinically appropriate.
Your questions
Repeated movement, skin ageing and sun exposure can contribute to creases becoming visible at rest. Muscle-relaxing treatment may soften their appearance, but established fine lines and wrinkles may not disappear completely.
Sometimes, but the areas need to be assessed together. The forehead muscle lifts the eyebrows, while muscles around the frown area pull them downwards and together. Helen will explain whether treating the forehead alone is appropriate or whether frown lines treatment should also be considered. They are usually treated together, also with the crow’s feet, as part of our popular 3 anti-wrinkle areas option.
The degree of movement after treatment varies according to your anatomy and treatment plan. We’ll discuss how much softening you would like and what is realistic. Maintaining some movement may be appropriate, but a particular result cannot be guaranteed.
Yes. Reducing forehead muscle activity can lower the brows or create a feeling of heaviness, particularly if you rely on this muscle to help lift them. Your consultation includes an assessment of brow and eyelid position so these risks can be considered before treatment.
