TREATMENT INFO
Frown lines are the vertical creases that appear between the eyebrows when you frown or concentrate. Anti-wrinkle treatment in this area aims to soften their appearance by reducing the muscle activity that creates them. Please note: All anti-wrinkle and muscle-relaxing treatment appointments are subject to a consultation with our independent nurse prescriber to assess suitability and create a personalised plan with your safety and goals in mind.

Frown lines are vertical creases between the eyebrows that become noticeable when you frown or concentrate. Sometimes called “11 lines”, they form as the muscles in this area draw the eyebrows together.
They may initially appear only during expression, but can remain visible when your face is relaxed as the skin changes over time. They differ from horizontal forehead lines and the creases beside the nose known as bunny lines.
What it helps
Part of our anti-wrinkle treatments, this frown lines treatment may soften lines that become more noticeable when frowning or concentrating, helping the area between the eyebrows appear more relaxed.
The degree of change depends on muscle activity, skin quality and whether the lines remain visible at rest. Deeper established creases may not disappear completely.

How it works
Muscle-relaxing treatment reduces activity in selected muscles responsible for drawing the eyebrows together. This can lessen repeated folding of the skin between the brows.
The treatment plan takes account of your muscle strength, facial movement and brow position. The aim is to soften the appearance of the lines while considering how the surrounding muscles work together.
Our approach
We consider your facial movement, skin and surrounding features to understand what’s contributing to your concern. Your treatment plan is tailored to your anatomy, priorities and goals, with clear advice about the changes treatment may achieve.
Your consultation will be with our in-house independent nurse prescriber, Helen Lada, who will review your medical history, assess suitability and explain your options. Treatment is only carried out where clinically appropriate.
Your questions
No. Frown lines appear vertically between the eyebrows, while forehead lines usually run horizontally across the forehead. Forehead lines treatment addresses a different muscle, although both areas are assessed together because they influence brow movement and position. Both are commonly treated together in our 2 area anti-wrinkle option.
Results usually begin to develop within a few days, with the full effect visible by around two weeks. Individual response varies, and Helen will explain the expected timing for your prescribed treatment.
Results usually last around 3–4 months, although longevity varies between individuals. The prescribed treatment, muscle activity and individual response can all influence duration.
Reducing muscle activity may soften their appearance, but established fine lines and wrinkles visible at rest may remain. Your consultation will consider skin quality alongside movement. Where appropriate, we can discuss skin booster treatments as part of a wider plan for skin quality.
