What is semi-permanent makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing used to enhance features such as the brows and lips. Carefully selected pigment is placed within the skin to create definition, colour or the appearance of natural brow hairs.
Although the results are designed to last, they are not permanent. Pigment gradually fades over time, and maintenance appointments may be recommended depending on your skin, lifestyle and chosen technique.

If you already have pigment in your brows or lips, please tell us before booking a new treatment. Jess will need to assess its colour, shape and visibility before deciding whether new semi-permanent makeup can be applied.
Previous pigment cannot always be successfully covered or corrected. If it is too dark, heavily saturated or outside the desired shape, laser fading may need to be considered first.

How it works
How does semi-permanent makeup work?
Before treatment begins, we will discuss your preferred result and carefully plan the proposed shape and colour.
For brow treatments, Jess will map the brows so you can review the proposed shape before pigment is applied. For lip blush, the intended colour and border will be discussed and agreed with you.
Pigment is then carefully implanted using the technique selected for your treatment. The colour may initially appear stronger or darker than the final result and should gradually soften as the area heals.
A follow-up appointment may be required once the skin has healed. This allows Jess to assess pigment retention and make refinements where appropriate.

How long does semi-permanent makeup last?

What is the difference between semi-permanent brows and Hyper Realism Brows?
Semi-permanent brows is a broad term covering cosmetic brow tattooing techniques. Hyper Realism Brows specifically use fine, carefully arranged hairstrokes to recreate the appearance and natural flow of brow hairs.
Is a top-up included with Hyper Realism Brows?
Yes. The initial Hyper Realism Brow treatment currently includes a complimentary top-up approximately four to six weeks later. This allows Jess to assess how the pigment has healed and make refinements where appropriate.
Does lip blush make your lips bigger?
Lip blush does not physically add volume. It adds colour and definition and may make the lip border appear clearer or the overall shape look more balanced.
Can you apply semi-permanent makeup over old pigment?
This depends on the colour, shape, depth and saturation of the existing pigment. Jess must assess previous permanent makeup before recommending correction, new pigment or laser fading.
