TREATMENT INFO

Jawline Anti-Wrinkle Treatment in Amersham, Buckinghamshire

Muscle activity can contribute to downward pull around the lower face and affect the appearance of the jawline. Where appropriate, anti-wrinkle treatment aims to reduce this pull, helping the jawline appear more defined without adding volume. Please note: All anti-wrinkle and muscle-relaxing treatment appointments are subject to a consultation with our independent nurse prescriber to assess suitability and create a personalised plan with your safety and goals in mind.

What is anti-wrinkle treatment for the jawline?

Part of our anti-wrinkle treatments, this jawline treatment considers how muscle activity influences the lower face and jawline. In suitable cases, reducing selected areas of downward muscular pull may help improve the appearance of definition.

Jawline shape also depends on bone structure, facial volume, skin laxity and fat distribution. These factors are considered before a treatment plan is recommended.

What it helps

What can jawline treatment help with?

Treatment may help soften the appearance of mild jowling and improve jawline definition where downward muscle pull contributes. Reducing this pull can create a subtle change in the contour of the lower face without adding volume.

Jowls can also develop through skin laxity and changes in facial support. Where these are the main causes, we may discuss skin tightening treatments or an individually assessed dermal filler plan. Muscle-relaxing treatment does not remove excess skin or fat.

If your concern is a wider-looking jaw caused by enlarged chewing muscles, masseter treatment addresses a different type of muscle activity.

How it works

How does jawline anti-wrinkle work?

Muscle-relaxing treatment reduces selected muscle activity contributing to downward pull around the jawline. Where appropriate, this can create a subtle change in the appearance of the lower face.

The treatment plan depends on the muscles involved and the relationship between your jawline, neck and surrounding facial features.

Our approach

Our approach to anti-wrinkle treatments

We consider your facial movement, skin and surrounding features to understand what’s contributing to your concern. Your treatment plan is tailored to your anatomy, priorities and goals, with clear advice about the changes treatment may achieve.

Your consultation will be with our in-house independent nurse prescriber, Helen Lada, who will review your medical history, assess suitability and explain your options. Treatment is only carried out where clinically appropriate.

Your questions

Jawline anti-wrinkle FAQs

What causes a loss of jawline definition?

Changes in skin, facial volume loss, fat distribution and muscular pull can all contribute. Your underlying bone structure also influences your jawline. Where loose skin is the main concern, we can discuss whether skin tightening treatments may be more appropriate.

How does this differ from jawline filler?

Anti-wrinkle treatment addresses selected muscle activity. Jawline filler adds volume and structural definition. They serve different purposes, and neither is appropriate for every concern.

Can this treatment reduce a double chin?

It does not remove fat beneath the chin. We’ll assess whether fat distribution, skin laxity or your underlying profile contributes to the appearance. Where chin shape or projection is relevant, we can explain how chin filler differs, although filler does not remove fat either.

Is this the same as masseter treatment?

No. Masseter treatment targets the chewing muscles, which can contribute to jaw width when enlarged. Jawline treatment described here focuses on muscular downward pull around the lower face and may overlap with the approach used for a Nefertiti neck lift.
