TREATMENT INFO
Visible neck bands and downward muscle pull can affect the appearance of the neck and jawline. Sometimes called a Nefertiti neck lift, anti-wrinkle treatment in this area aims to soften prominent muscular bands and improve definition where muscle activity contributes to the concern. Please note: All anti-wrinkle and muscle-relaxing treatment appointments are subject to a consultation with our independent nurse prescriber to assess suitability and create a personalised plan with your safety and goals in mind.

A Nefertiti neck lift is a term used for muscle-relaxing treatment targeting selected areas of the platysma, a broad muscle extending across the neck and into the lower face.
Despite its name, this treatment does not surgically lift the neck or remove excess skin. Its suitability depends on how much muscle activity contributes to your concern.
What it helps
Part of our anti-wrinkle treatments, our Nefertiti neck lift treatment may help soften prominent muscular neck bands and reduce downward pull around the jawline in suitable cases.
Loose skin, fat beneath the chin and changes in facial support require separate assessment. Muscle-relaxing treatment may offer limited benefit where these are the main causes of reduced definition.

How it works
Treatment reduces activity in selected parts of the platysma. This may soften visible bands and lessen muscular downward pull at the lower face.
The outcome depends on your anatomy, skin quality and the contribution of other tissues to the appearance of your neck and jawline.
Our approach
We consider your facial movement, skin and surrounding features to understand what’s contributing to your concern. Your treatment plan is tailored to your anatomy, priorities and goals, with clear advice about the changes treatment may achieve.
Your consultation will be with our in-house independent nurse prescriber, Helen Lada, who will review your medical history, assess suitability and explain your options. Treatment is only carried out where clinically appropriate.
Your questions
Vertical neck bands can become visible when parts of the platysma muscle contract. Their appearance can also become more noticeable as the skin and underlying tissues change over time. Your assessment will distinguish muscular bands from skin laxity.
The name refers to an approach intended to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline by addressing muscular pull. It is one of the areas that may be discussed during an anti-wrinkle consultation. It is not a surgical neck lift and does not produce the same changes.
Muscle-relaxing treatment does not directly remove or tighten excess skin. If loose skin is your main concern, we can discuss whether our skin tightening treatments offer a more appropriate approach.
There can be overlap because the platysma affects both the neck and lower face. Jawline treatment focuses on muscular pull affecting lower-face definition, while a neck-focused assessment also considers prominent vertical bands.
