Learn more
Lip fillers are injectable treatments that can enhance the shape, definition and fullness of your lips. They can be used to define the lip border, bring out the Cupid’s bow or restore some of the volume that has gradually reduced with age.
At Skin Techniques, we start by listening to what you’d like to change. You might want a subtle refresh or a fuller result, but we’ll always consider your existing lip shape and how it sits alongside your other features. Lip filler is part of our wider range of dermal filler treatments, with every plan built around you.
What it helps
Lip filler can help with naturally thin lips, lips that have become thinner over time or a lip border that has become less defined. It may also improve differences in fullness between the upper and lower lip or soften some asymmetry, although natural differences may remain.
You don’t need to decide how much filler you want before visiting us. We’ll talk through whether your priority is shape, definition or volume and explain what is realistic. If your main concern is fine lines above the upper lip, we’ll assess these separately, as enhancing the lips themselves may not address them. Existing filler that looks uneven or has moved beyond the lip border may also need assessment before adding more.
If your upper lip rolls inwards when you smile, a lip flip may be worth discussing. This changes selected muscle activity to make more of the upper lip visible, without adding the volume associated with filler. For fine vertical creases around the mouth, our smoker’s lines treatment page explains how muscle movement and skin quality can influence the approach.

How it works
Small amounts of filler are placed in the lips to add fullness or enhance their shape. We plan the placement around your natural lip border, existing volume and how your lips look both at rest and when you smile. Before treatment, we’ll explain the approach we recommend and give you time to ask questions.
Your lips may look fuller than expected straight afterwards because of swelling, so it’s important to let them settle before judging the result. We’ll assess their shape and fullness once the initial swelling has reduced.
Our approach
At Skin Techniques, we specialise in a personalised, full-face approach to dermal fillers. You might come to us with a particular treatment in mind, but the area you notice isn’t always the only place we need to consider.
Changes in volume, skin quality and the support around your features can all contribute to the same concern. Sometimes treating one area is appropriate; sometimes a combination of treatments may be more helpful.
We take time to understand what is causing your concern and how your features work together before recommending a treatment plan. You don’t need to know exactly what to book—we’ll explain the options and help you decide on an approach that suits your face and what you’d like to achieve.
Your questions
Lip filler at Skin Techniques starts from £330. Your final price depends on the filler selected and amount required. We’ll explain our recommendation and confirm the full cost before you decide whether to proceed.
Results often last around 6–12 months, although this varies from person to person. The filler used, amount placed and your individual response all matter. Before recommending maintenance, we’ll check your lip shape and how much filler remains.
Neither amount is automatically better. Your natural lip shape, any existing filler and the result you’d like are more important than choosing a quantity in advance. We’ll help you decide whether a smaller adjustment or a gradual treatment plan is appropriate.
Swelling is usually more noticeable during the first few days and gradually improves. Allow around two weeks before judging the initial result.
