Skin tightening treatments are designed to improve the appearance of skin that has become less firm or supported over time.
Changes in collagen, facial fat and the underlying tissues can affect the cheeks, jawline, lower face, neck and other areas. Rather than using a single treatment for everyone, we consider what is causing the concern and recommend the most appropriate option.
At Skin Techniques, we offer two different approaches:
Both are non-surgical, minimally invasive treatments, but they work differently and have different recovery requirements. You do not need to know which one you need before visiting us. We will assess your skin, facial structure and concerns during your consultation.
How they work
Skin tightening treatments work by supporting the tissues and encouraging changes within the skin, but the precise process depends on the treatment selected.
Endopulse uses a fine optical fibre to deliver controlled laser energy beneath the skin. This is intended to support collagen remodelling and improve the appearance of firmness and contour in suitable areas.
The Ponytail Lift uses dissolvable PLLA cog sutures placed beneath the skin. The sutures provide physical support and reposition selected facial tissues while also encouraging a gradual collagen response.
Neither treatment is the same as a surgical facelift. Results are generally more subtle, and suitability, recovery and longevity vary between clients.
What they help
Depending on the cause of the concern and the treatment selected, skin tightening may help improve the appearance of:
These treatments cannot stop the ageing process or reproduce the outcome of surgery. During your consultation, we will explain what may realistically be achieved and whether another treatment would be more appropriate.
You may also be interested in our skin boosters, dermal fillers or cryotherapy.
Areas
Our skin tightening treatments can address different areas of the face, neck and body, depending on your anatomy, concerns and the treatment selected.
Endopulse can be used on the face, neck and selected body areas. The Ponytail Lift focuses on areas such as the cheeks, lower face, jawline and early jowls.
We will assess the area during your consultation and recommend the most appropriate treatment for you.

Common questions
Non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments may improve the appearance of mild to moderate skin laxity, but they cannot provide the same degree of change as surgery.
Endopulse and the Ponytail Lift work in different ways. During your consultation at our Amersham clinic, we will assess the concern and explain whether either treatment is likely to be appropriate.
There is no single skin tightening treatment that is best for everyone. The right option depends on the area, degree of laxity, condition of the skin and underlying cause.
Endopulse may be considered when laser-assisted remodelling and contouring are appropriate. The Ponytail Lift may suit certain clients who require greater physical support through selected facial tissues.
No. Endopulse and thread lifting use different techniques.
Endopulse uses a fine optical fibre to deliver controlled laser energy beneath the skin. The Ponytail Lift uses PLLA cog sutures to reposition and support the tissues. They also have different recovery, suitability and treatment-planning considerations.
The longevity of results varies according to the procedure, treatment area, skin quality, age and lifestyle. The natural ageing process will also continue after treatment.
Your practitioner will discuss the expected longevity of the recommended treatment during your consultation. Maintenance or complementary treatments may sometimes be suggested.
You do not need to choose before booking your consultation. We will examine the area, discuss what you would like to improve and consider whether the concern comes from the skin, facial volume, fatty tissue or underlying support.
We can then explain whether Endopulse, the Ponytail Lift or another treatment is likely to be the most appropriate option for you.
Why Us
Choosing a skin tightening treatment can feel confusing, particularly when several procedures appear to promise similar results.
At Skin Techniques, we begin by understanding what you would like to improve and assessing the skin, facial structure and underlying tissues. We will recommend treatment only when we believe it is appropriate and explain its limitations as well as its potential benefits.
Honest guidance about potential outcomes, limitations and recovery.
Clear preparation, aftercare and support throughout your treatment journey.
